On July 15, the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF), in collaboration with Argentina’s National Procurement Office and its Director, Soledad Vallejos Meana, held a specialized seminar on Dispute Boards (DBs) aimed at national government officials.

The session focused on international best practices and the critical role of DBs as a proactive tool for the effective and efficient management of concession and infrastructure contracts. Presentations were delivered by DRBF Region 4 President, Marcela Radovic C., DRBF Argentina Country Representative and Region 4 Board member, Ricardo E. Barreiro-Deymonnz, Amalia Moreno Vizcardo,  DRBF member and former Executive Director of Peru's Authority for Reconstruction with Changes, who shared practical insights and global experiences on integrating DBs into public procurement and project delivery frameworks.

The event highlighted the Argentine government’s strong commitment to innovation in dispute management and its interest in strengthening preventive mechanisms that add value, reduce costs, and provide greater certainty in high-impact projects.

“The exchange of ideas and experiences during this seminar shows the potential for Argentina to position itself as a regional leader in implementing dispute avoidance mechanisms. The willingness of public officials to embrace these tools is truly inspiring”“, said Marcela Radovic.

Ricardo Barreiro-Deymonnaz added "We are encouraged by the level of engagement and the active participation of the officials in the discussion. This seminar marks an important step in building stronger institutions and modern contractual processes in Argentina.”

The DRBF thanks the National Procurement Office for opening this space for dialogue and collaboration, and all the officials who contributed to a rich exchange of ideas. Building on this successful initiative, the DRBF looks forward to developing further opportunities for cooperation with the Argentine government to strengthen dispute prevention and effective contract management in public projects.
